What is Lincoln Cares?

Lincoln Cares is a wonderful example of a public private partnership that clearly  demonstrates how the private sector, individuals and government can work together to benefit the community.

Lincoln Cares is a fun, easy way to support parks and recreation in Lincoln, for only $1 per month! Bolstered by matching funds provided by the private sector including the Lincoln Parks Foundation, Lincoln Cares gives everyone a chance to do something extra to beautify our community.

Lincoln Cares is the City of Lincoln's voluntary donation program that offers customers of the Lincoln Electric System (LES) a chance to add $1 each month to their bill payments to provide funds for parks and recreation projects and programs not currently in the City budget.

Since 2003, LES customers and matching community donors have contributed more than $1,000,000 to Lincoln Cares! These funds pay for the extra programs and projects that make Lincoln an extra special place to live.

5 Easy Ways To Donate

1.       Simply add $1 to your LES bill payment each month.

2.       Add Lincoln Cares to your automatic bill payment by calling LES at 475-4211.

3.       Sign up for Autopay with this FORM.

4.       Send a donation of any amount to Lincoln Parks Foundation, 2740 "A" St., Box 201, Lincoln, NE 68502. Make the check payable to Lincoln Cares.

Lincoln Cares has been a very popular program for many members of our local business community since its inception. For the second consecutive year, members of Lincoln's media organizations and others have donated $30,000 each for in-kind promotion of the Lincoln Cares program.

At a special ceremony recently at the Sunken Gardens, Mayor Chris Beutler honored supporters of this highly successful public private partnership.
